Enrich Our Community, Host an Oneg
Would you like to enrich community life at Bethlehem Hebrew Congregation and get to know other members at the same time? Sponsor and/or host for one of our Shabbat weekends from July to October. As a sponsor and host, you’ll purchase a few tasty snacks and desserts, set them up with a (Melissa) challah and shots of wine/juice, and clean up afterwards.
Typically hosts sponsor both the Friday night oneg and Saturday morning kiddush. You don’t have to attend the entire two services – you just have to be there for the oneg/kiddush portion of both. And the upside? You’ll participate in the happiness of food and drinks shared and meet new friends, all while hearing about local culture, restaurants and hikes.
Not local? Donate any amount in the range of three to five times chai ($54-$90) and the hospitality committee will shop for you and find a local to do the presentation. You get a special thanks during services.
Last, but not least, you can make Shabbat special for our rabbi by inviting her to Shabbat dinner at your home.
Please contact the BHC Hospitality Committee with any questions, or to learn how to sign up to host.
