Trash-Free Maple Street - BHC Road Crew Picks Up “Our” Section

Pickers at attention! Don’t point that thing at your partner’s head.

Mike and Dave worked their way down from Copper Canyon Road. Jacki and Josh walked up from Route 18. Leslie drove the classic convertible up and down Route 142 moving "Caution" signs, refilling water bottles, providing back up trash bags and encouragement.

We lost count of the total number of trash bags filled, speculated on whether smokers toss their butts at the top, bottom, or level part of the hill versus the rain carrying the butts down. We agreed that this year's "most tossed from car window beverages' were canned vodka drinks, with Pabst Blue Ribbon beer coming in second overall. A very satisfying couple of good-deed-doing hours. And the lower part of Maple Street, from Copper Canyon Road to Franconia, looks marvelous.
